Established in 2008, Freedom Riders Academy Riding Lessons offers a wide range of horses to accommodate every level of rider. Our horses are well trained to handle the most novice of riders to the very experienced.
Riding School Options
A private hourly lesson once a week throughout the month.
A private and or paired group to be taken out on trail with an experienced guide. You will experience grooming and tacking your horse along with riding for up to one hour out on trail.
We accommodate special needs individuals with their counselor or aid. Lessons consist of hippo therapy combined with short trails.
Riding School Pricing
We believe that consistency is key to becoming a skilled rider. We offer monthly lessons given once a week. Rain/sick days are built into that pricing based on some months having five weeks.
School Break Camps
Day camp and weekly summer camp are offered at Freedom Riders Academy.
Our camps are held at our barn located in the equestrian community of Little Ranches. This location allows us to facilitate a diversified camp for your child. They will explore our trails, take equitation lessons in our arena, make crafts and more; all while learning to ride and care for our well-mannered horses. We accept all levels of students from the beginner to the advanced rider. All of our horses have been rescued and rehabilitated by the owner/trainer Alison Weissman.
Our age guidelines for campers are 5 – 15 years, with a 1 to 3 counselor to camper ratio.
Weekly Camp is held Monday-Friday, 8:00am-Noon.
Day Camp is offered on most days off during the school year, held 8:00am-3:00pm.
Freedom Riders Academy is the only Equestrian based facility that has been officially approved by the state Florida through the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. The Everglades Youth Conservation Camp based on the JW Corbett Wildlife Management Area receives equestrian arts education to both campers and staff members. We are their Eco Equestrian Program.
Our summer camps are also open to the public during the first and last weeks of summer vacation. To learn more about our camp days, contact us.

Currently offered the first Wednesday of every month.
Loved On Program
This is a unique opportunity to care for our rescues in a very tangible way. We believe that every horse that comes through our barn doesn’t just belong to Freedom Riders Academy, but they are Freedom Riders, which means they are you too! We are offering this program to people who would like to take some ownership of one of the rescues. Would you like to groom them? Purchase one of their supplies? Have a desire to pickup extra carrots, apples or fly spray? If you can’t stay away from the tack store this could be a great program for you!
We offer birthday parties for children. Come spend an afternoon at the barn with our rescues! You supply the cake and decorations, we supply the horses and fun!
For those students and parents that are a part of Freedom Riders Academy, we offer unique volunteering opportunities for both children and parents. These hours can also be used towards high school volunteer hours in Palm Beach County.
Occasionally, we do work days out at Freedom Riders Academy. This includes: painting and repairing fences, clearing land, pulling weeds, etc. Be on the look out for our next workday event.
